We are the Seelys; Kylen, Abbie, Molly (6), Hudson (4) and Sasha (Mini Australian Shepherd). Our journey and family started just over 10 years ago. Kylen and I have always enjoyed getting away and enjoying nature or a nice hotel with a pool and adventure nearby. We never realized how much we loved traveling with kids until April 2019, when we took a trip to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. It was a very long drive but we broke it down and stayed in a couple of hotels on the way there and back. The best part: no schedule to stick to. We knew we wanted to see the Grand Canyon, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, and Horse Shoe Bend...the rest was impromptu and it turned out to be the best travel experience with our kids we had yet to experience. We weren't "late" getting anywhere, we literally booked the hotels as we were driving to our locations, and our expectations were under what we actually experienced! The kids did amazing in the car and I contribute that to the mere fact that we weren't focused on making them nap or listen to what we wanted to listen to (what we really enjoy doing in the car)...it was about them and our family!

One of the many views at the Grand Canyon, AZ
This trip ignited a spark within us that made us want to see what else was out there to explore. The possibilities became endless as we explored google maps and searched national parks and forests in our vicinity. What we've found in our short time of exploring is that you don't have to drive far to see some truly beautiful and fun things that this side of the world has to offer.
Naturally, as COVID-19 hit and we were forced to stay at home and unable to travel or book hotels, we began looking into our dream of owning a camper. Luckily, Kylen was able to work from home through all of this craziness (and still is), and this helped us to see how much time we really wanted to spend together (important if you are looking into traveling a lot)! We found the small camper of our dreams with bunk beds and a nice kitchenette and bit the bullet. I'm not saying it was easy or without stress, but we are now proud owners of a 19' Keystone Kodiak Cub Travel Trailer and we continue to learn something new about our trailer every time we take it out...good and bad!
We hope as we embark on this new journey and our travels in and out of our camper, we can document our adventures and share some great and not-so-great places to visit away from home! Come with us as we are Out There Bound!
